I love the logo that Rob has put on the website and would love to be able to get some clothing with that on it. I've seen the offering with the 4 red LISF letters but really like the above logo much better. In my club in FL, we took advantage of the fantastic offer the AMA has for print clothing and incredibly low prices. We provide the artwork, they charge a one time fee to clean it up and get it ready for use on clothing and then print them up in the style, size and color(s) the club wants. The minimum order is 12 pieces and they could be assorted in style, size and color. You get a discount for larger orders. I got T-shirts (most of which I destroyed with little splashes of winch battery acid over the years ) and sweatshirts. I still have one T and 2 sweatshirts. They were good quality. They also offer long sleeve T's and golf shirts. We can have the logo on the back and/or front and/or on the breast pocket area and we can them personalized with each persons name for an additional fee. I remember how shocked I was about how diverse even a small 12 piece order can be. Here is the AMA webpage that has a lot info about it... www.modelaircraft.org/products/screenprinting_prices.aspxJust food for thought! I usually wear my T shirt and sweatshirt to the field when I fly if anyone wants to look at the workmenship. Dave

The comparison is bad.
A Tshirt with the logo is $5 for white and $8 for colors from the AMA. You can even get the logo on the back in a large format and then on the breast pocket area (no pocket) in a smaller format (which is the way I had my FL club shirts done). Cafepress wants $20 for just the logo on the chest. They offer the double sided version is the Red logo for $25.
Golf Shirts are $10 for white and $12 for colors. Cafepress is $24
etc, etc.
I was really surpised at the AMA prices and was even more surprised when we received our first order.

what's their setup fee? this could be a very nice option... cafepress prices are generally 5 bucks cheaper than what's listed on the site. with each purchase i take a few bucks to cover taxes and then donate a few bucks to the club... but i've had NO purchases except for myself... people are just not interested.

There is a one time setup fee... www.modelaircraft.org/products/screenprinting.aspxThe fact that the order can be as little as 12 pieces may make it possible to get enough people interested for an initial order. Then others may be interested in a subsequent order. I'd probably get 3 or 4 pieces myself (2 T's, a golf shirt and a sweatshirt). At these prices, you can't beat it.

Rob,
Did you reinstate the Cafe press web site? Last time I looked the LISF stuff was gone, but I see it is working again.

I really like the new color version of the logo Rob just put on the main website. I'd love to get that on a T Shirt and Sweatshirt!

I want to propose we get together and buy some clothing. Since the minimum order is 12 pieces, that should be easy to come up with. Donna and I will probably account for 5 pieces ourselves. I've contacted the lady the takes care of this stuff at the AMA just to make sure I understood the program. Here are the important details... Again, the minimum order is 12 pieces but there are discounts applied for $150+ orders. Higher discounts for larger orders. She has seen our logo (created by Rob) and there would be an initial art work preparation cost of $35. Since this is my idea, I am willing to pay that fee. This is a one time fee and subsequent orders will not have it as our logo will be on file with them. We can get the large logo printed on the front or back of the shirt. We can stay with that or, if desired, we can have a monochrome version of our logo printed on the front, right breast area and we could go with the large color logo on the back for no additional charge. Names can be added to any piece for $2 each. My preference is like I described above... large logo on back, smaller monochrome logo on the front with name underneath it. Prices and selection can be seen here... www.modelaircraft.org/products/screenprinting_prices.aspxIf I remember, I will wear my T Shirt and Sweatshirt to the meeting on Thursday so people can look at the quality. Here is a small version of the logo as created by Rob... I'd be willing to get up in front of the club and give a 'Dog and Pony' on this topic. Dave

Nope. Just regular sweatshirts. No hoods.

The guys at the club meeting last night received the idea well. I will get all the details together and start a new thread that will descibe what is available and how we will be ordering.
Rob is making some mods to the logo and then I need to work out the details with the AMA silk screeners about the front LISF name image. Once I have everything, I will post it and we can get started.
