The 2009 Championship of the Free World
Contests can be held anytime! All you need to do are follow the below specified contest rules. Even though you can just decide spur of the moment to have a contest, I advise folks to try and get as many contestants as possible to maximize points that can be earned
For each contest there will be overall points for the winners as specified for each type of contest… winners of the contests will be awarded points and at the end of the season there will be a prize for the top 2 pilots. We can either print out cheesy certificates, or actually chip in and get cool prizes.. up to the group. I have no objections if someone wants to put together a different category for 2meter and unlimited or electric.. it will just be an independent track and different awards will be given as a separate category.. I personally am more interested in DLG competitions.. so below are my proposed contest and rules for the DLG track.
**DLG competitions**
ALL UP LAST DOWN
minimum of 3 contestants needed... one contestant needs to be able to set a 3 min. alarm on his transmitter or other device that can be activated easily. Contestants all throw the plane at the same time.
The placements points go in increments as per how many contestants..
If there are 3 contestants – overall first place gets 3 points, second gets 2pts, third gets 1pt…. The points would increase with number of contestants… if there are 4 contestants then 4 points would be what the 1st place gets and so forth.
Each round will be scored as follows:
We’ll assume we’re playing with 5 contestants… all pilots will throw at the same time.
First pilot down gets 0 points for that round, second pilot down would get 1point, third pilot down would get 2 points, fourth pilot down would get 3 points, and last pilot down would get 4 points.
if pilots max out the 3 min flight then everyone in the air would get awarded an extra point added to the max points that can be earned. For example, with 5 contstants… lets say 3 pilots make the 3 min. max.. they are all awarded 5 points each for the round… the other two pilots would get a 0 for the first one down, and a 1 for the second one down.
for this contest to count, there must be a minimum of 15 rounds flown… there is no max amount of rounds, but you can only have 1 all up last down contest per day.
TWO MINUTE STREAKS
minimum of 3 contestants needed….needs one contestant to be able to set a 2 min. alarm on his transmitter or other device that can be activated easily.
Point of this contest is to get consistent 2 min. flights..
It’s based on a streak of 2 min flights… all players launch at the same time and try to get a 2 min flight on every launch. There must be a minimum of 15 throws/rounds for this contest to count. … there is no max amount of rounds.. but you can only have one 2 min consistency contest per day.
A streak is defined as 3 or more 2 min flights in a row. If no streaks are made by any contestant, then no points will be given and the contest will be declared NULL
Overall points will be awarded based on number of contestants.. if there are 5 contestants, then first place will get 5 points, second place will get 4 points, third will get 3, and so on until last place with 1 point.
MULTI-ROUND CONTEST (traditional f3k contest rules and tasks)
This is much like our club contests….. as a matter of fact this is exactly like our club contest, and our club contest also count toward this. Scoring is exactly like the esl and lisf contests… A minimum of 6 pilots required for these contests… Pilots can choose the tasks… minimum 3 rounds for this to count.
Tasks can be..
All up last down, best 5 flights, :15s ladder, Poker, 1,2,3 min flights, last two flights,
Best 3 flights… etc… all in a time window just like our club contests and our esl contests.
Points are awarded in the same way as other contests and based on number of contestants…. The more contestants, the more points awarded for first place!

to submit scores… during time of contest, someone should be recording the scores… these scores with specifics of the contest should be emailed to me for me to tally up and award the overall scores for the records
