OK.. in order to add pics to your post, it's not as simple as it is on rcgroups or other forums. in this tutorial i'll explain how to go about adding pics to your posts.
since we cannot upload pics via the message board, you have to use HTML and link to a picture somewhere on the web.
you do this by inserting this code:
<img> your url </img>
in order for me to show you the code, i couldn't actually write out the html.. in your code you will replace the < > with [ ] for it to work.... so remember that < is equal to [ and > is equal to ].
now.. if you don't have webspace and would like to still post an image on the forums.. you can send them to me and i'll upload them to the lisf webspace for you to link to.
here's an example of a pic and then under it is what the code i would type in to make it appear.
<img> www.lisf.org/message_board_images/leading_edges/1.jpg </img>
note that "www.lisf.org/message_board_images" will always be the same for pics on our server. what comes after that is what will change.. "leading_edges" is the directory i made to hold the pics for that post and "1.jpg" is the name of the file i posted.
lets say ed wants to post a build thread on a easy glider... he'd collect all his photos, name them 1.jpeg, 2.jpeg, 3.jpeg and so on... he would then email me these photos. i would upload them to the lisf webspace and then email him back the directory which i posted them to... in this case i'd call the directory "easy_glider"
his links would read like this:
<img> www.lisf.org/message_board_images/easy_glider/1.jpg </img>
if he gave me 10 images, the only thing he'd need to change is the 1.jpg to 2.jpeg or 5.jpeg depending on which pic he wanted to display.
i know this isn't easy for everyone.. but if this forum starts to take off.. we can petition to upgrade to the paid message boards in which uploading images will be alot more like rcgroups
for now.. if you like you can just link to a snapfish album or you can give this tutorial a try.
good luck!
