I want to get into DLG.
I'm looking for a first plane to practice throwing etcetera...
can anyone point me in the right direction?

Drew,
I'd ask David Ashinsky if he want's to sell one one of his many DLG's.
You could also ask Ed Anderson to put a request into the Weekly Flying Report, and Rob to put one in the newsletter.
If that doesn't pan out, start following the sailplane for sale/wanted thread on RC Groups, and post a wanted ad there.
Some good planes to look for are the XP4, XP5, Taboo, SuperGee, and Blaster II.
These are all composite planes that should weigh 10.5 oz or less. Expect to pay $300 and up - any good deals get snapped up very quickly!

I would count yourself lucky to only spend $300. A plane with servos will probably go for $450+ unless they are either heavy or damaged.
