Weather permitting, I am planning on holding a dry run contest on March 21st. Contest start time will be around 10:30 so try to get there before that. We will do maybe 4 rounds seeing what sort of length per round works best. So, if you have anything electic that is a aircraft permitted to fly at the Stillwell field, BE THERE! ;D Hope to see lots of you! Dave

Our dry run was held today and everyone (as far as I could tell) had a great time! Weather was great and the sky was blue and sunny. I think we did a good job of working out the 'kinks' are are ready to begin out contest season. The first 'official' contest will be the 3rd Saturday in April (weather permitting) which will be April 18th. More details will be posted as the date draws near. Here are the results of the contest. We held four eight minutes rounds but you can see a few of us had some issues (batteries, trees, etc. ). Congrats go to Rob for winning the event.

David, Great job organizing the contest today. That was a ton of fun. The ability to restart the motor added a new dimmension to the flight that is completely different from the pure glider events. It introduces some strategy decisions. Congratulations to Rob for his clear victory. Anyone who says that an Easy Glider can't compete really does not know the plane. Rob showed us all how it should be done! Congratulations to Mark, one of our newest members, for an outstanding performance with his Radian. It is easy to see that a little more stick time will turn Mark into a winner at these contests. What a great day!

I think that the fact that Rob won using an Easy Glider (corrected) should send a message to everyone that EVERYONE can compete! ... oh, yeah.... an have a LOT of FUN!

dave, i think you meant easy glider in you last post.. not to say i couldn't have won with an easy star anyway.. it was a LOT of fun! and i think i got lucky... me and ed were neck and neck for most of the contest... one more motor run and one less landing would have put ed in the number 1 spot. besides.. i had a GREAT timer.. so that helped alot! thanks ed! -rob
