Our first official E-contest is scheduled to start at 10:30 on Saturday, April 18th. Feel free to chime in here if you are planning to attend and what you might be flying.
My electric Aquila took a bad hit when we dropped it out of the tree it took a liking to during the 4th round of the last contest. I've built new stabs and tail and have stripped down the wings. The covering should be here tomorrow so I'm hoping to have this plane back in the air by then (with a slight upgrade in the motor too).

I think I will stay with the Dust Devil. I really need more practice with the landings.
I plan to be there.
Seems the e-foamies are laying down the challenge in this contest. Well bring it on, but the wood wing will take the day!

I'm hoping to fly my Aquila again but it will be with only a limted test flight just before the contest. I stripped it down, repainted the fg fuze and recoverd the wings. I also build new tail feathers because the previous ones got smashed getting it down from the tree. I've also repowered it. I took out the Axi 2820/10 outrunner and now have a Hacker A30-10XL outrunner. Motocalc shows me almost twice the climb. Should be interesting.

Weather is looking decent for Saturday but maybe a little breezy. Right now the forecase is 65 and 11 mph. Of course, as always, its subject to change... often!

I had a great time, as well, at my first contest (of many?) It was a fantastic chance to gain more experience as well as meet some more members of the club. Also, I have learned that it appears to be extremely important to have a YELLOW plane; as all others seem to be of a lesser standard. I'm getting some foam-safe paint today. Nice contest... and flying Dave!

Yep, yellow planes are important... so long as they have a big honkin' purple out-runner motor in them! ;D
