Dan,
I'll be cooking dinner for wife's mom and my mom so I cannot be there. Postpone it. In the past, we never even offered a contest on certain holidays knowing that turnout would be poor and I think Mother's day was one of them.
Also, just to make things easier, let's all call the contest thread by the name of the month and year. Leave the date out. The reason is that this way if we have a rain date, we will not need to open another thread and keeps it all together.
Just a suggestion.....

I did find some nice scoring stuff on the Torrey Pines website. they do have some mp3 files that arn't that bad. www.torreypinesgulls.org/HandlaunchCDforms.htmDave, who made the files we are using has been notified of the problem. We'll see if new ones are made.

Guys, the sound / timing files on our website has an error in the 8min window time (3min lead in with a 8 min window). It actually is 10 mins long! This is where we got them from: www.rcbuilder.com/download/DLG-Timing.zipThey are still not fixed there either. Check back from time to time to see if it has been repaired. I may try to create one myself and pass it to Rob for our site if possible. Thanks Frank

Well as you all know , we did not have the contest on the 12th. It will be rescheduled for the 26th, this coming Sunday.
Do not forget to bring a scoresheet. Thanks
We will have a pilots meeting at 9:45am and first flight at 10AM.
There will be a moment of silence for our non present clubmate, Rob. Rob is unable to attend.
Sorry Rob. We will hope for your attendance often and in the near future.
If you will be coming, please post here by Friday 5PM so I can make arrangements to be there. Only need 3 pilots plus myself to have a contest.

I am SOOOO luv'd
Someone had to make a decision. as it is, it will rain early at least on Sat. and Sunday promises to be windy.
Does anyone want it Sunday the 12th?
If no one responds here by Sat about 5PM, concider it postponed to the rain date.
by the way, good news! Rob won't be there and Dan will be flying with a broken arm!!! LOL just kidding we'll miss you Rob.
But I kind of like the idea that Dan gives us all a chance and has to fly left handed

OK guys, let's get back on track and realize that if the contest is not held on Sunday, it will be offered again on the Fourth Sunday of the month, April 26th.
I wish the club could accommodate everyone but that is what the club defines and what we all must follow.
I would be willing to entertain an early start, say first flight at 9AM and done by 11:30AM but that's about it.
If we will not have an early start, I doubt I will be coming due to holiday obligations. I am willing to defer CD status to Phil and Dan if either chooses to pick it up in my absense.
Rob, who knows, it might rain next month and we'll have to have it again on the fourth Sunday of the month!!

OK, there has been some comments going around about rain dates and what not. I think we should remember that there are many that do not have regular web access or web access at all.
The club did state that all contests will begin at 10AM.
Also, if a contest is cancelled due to weather, it will be made up on its rain date.
For the most part, the first Sunday of the month is TD both unlimited and 2M with its rain date on the third Sunday of the month.
Hand launch has its contest on the second Sunday of the month and its rain date on the fourth Sunday of the month.
Electric is now being held on the third Saturday with its rain date on the fourth Saturday.
Let's all follow the guidelines that the club has laid out so all can participate in them.
Yes, I know it would be nice to schedule certain contests based on ones availability or outside factors. If we wish to do this, we should bring it up at the next club meeting and discuss favorable options.
Having these things defined makes it easier for everyone to attend and to schedule.
Thanks guys,
Sincerely, Frank N.

As always, we should have scheduled another day in the calendar. Here is the alternatives: 1. Not have it since we will be short. 2. Have it Sat. instead but will be down a few - maybe enough not to have it 3. Just have it on the rain date. To me it seems that the rain date wins. It is the only date everyone should be available. Any better ideas?
