Well, we have had 2 guys wanting to fly later so we will aim for a 9:45AM pilots meeting and first flight at 10AM.
Phil, are you bringing the scoring sheets?
Rob, will you have the computer for us to enter the scores or how will we be doing this?
Thanks guys.

I no longer have obligations on Sunday so , only if all agree will we still need to meet at 9AM.
Let's vote on it (the time to start). If anyone does not want 9AM, then we go back to 10am as defined in club rules.
Also, WE WILL BE FLYING A NEW TASK!!!!
Task - Consecutive flights - Goal to fly as many max flights in a window of time to form a sequence of flights. A sequence is a one or more flights where all flights except the last flight are equal to or greater than the max flight duration. A sequence ends when a max flight is not reached. If a pilot chooses to start a new sequence, he will discard all previous flights. Window can be up to 15 min and flight duration no longer than 3 min. The pilot is allowed unlimited throws. Only the last sequence counts.

Hey guys,
We are slated to have a contest on Oct. 11th (rain date Oct. 25th)
I would like to ask if everyone is willing to start at 9 AM first flight.
Let me know if you are going to come. If we do not have enough, I have some obligations to attend to in the afternoon. and may not attend.
This may well be one of the last DLG contests of the season so let's make it a great turnout!!

Guys, It is my daughter's birthday adn so I will not be able to make the contest. If someone is willing to pick up the task of running it, they are welcome to do so. Please come prepared.
If you want the poles, come by Sat. morning to get them. Sunday may be a bit to hectic.
Thanks
Good luck to everyone and let's see if we have a repeat of Dan getting beat! LOL
Good luck to all.

It was brought up at the field that certain individuals should do certain things and this individual pointed out that the CD should do certain tasks in preparation for the contest. I stated that if a person wishes to compete, they could come prepared and one of those things that is needed is to print out a scoresheet. I recalled something Ed had told me. A CD's responsibility is to manage the on goings of a contest, not do all the work. They should delegate responsibility to others and the CD should make sure the work gets done. I would like, in preparation for Aug 9th club contest, to allow the club to decide which way we will go. Please decide whether you would like: 1. each pilot to be responsible for their own scoresheet 2. Have a single person come with sufficient sheets for all who attend I will cast my vote for everyone come with their own. The reason is how do you know how many to make? If you plan on coming, go to www.lisf.org/DLG_files/LISF_HLG_generic_contest_sheet.rtfAnd print out your own. Do this when you plug tour batteries in and prep your planes etc. for the next day. Should we also pass off the responsibility for scoring to someone? Why not? We can , on field assign someone to plug the data into the available scoresheet (http://www.lisf.org/DLG_files/LISF_HLG_SCORE_June_08.xls ) or do it by whatever method they wish and pass the results to Rob when done (in a format amicable to Rob). I would like everyone in attendance to be able to run the show, especially in case that Phil, Dan, myself or one of the other regular DLG pilot's cannot be there. I do not want a contest to not go on for lack of attendance by certain members. Please do not take this as me shrugging my responsibility but rather it is my attempt to ensure that the contest goes on as scheduled and that everyone in attendance has a great time. It is also to set a precident so that if anyone else takes over the CD position, they will be adequately prepared. So, if it is decided that one guy be responsible for scoresheets, I would like to take a volunteer for August to make them and another volunteer to do the scoring. Or We can have everyone be responsible for themselves and we'll get someone, maybe me, to do the scoring? Thanks Frank P.S. August is great!!! Two weekends of DLG competition! ESL the first weekend followed by our club contest the following!!

My wife and I once left about 7AM and got there before noon last year on Friday. Stopped at the hotel, got the room and then ran to the field just in time to fly in the Pro - AM at like 12 - 1PM or something like that. This year we are planning on leaving after work around 6PM or so. I know, lousy time but what can you do. AS for the time, you don't know Dan. He's up at like 5 AM or so when we go to contests.... probably to pee. LOL

Guys, Most of the DLG regulars will be going to Polecat the weekend of June 13 and 14 but this isn't a reason not to have the club DLG contest!
All the information can be found via links in a thread in this forum.
Go for it!!! Someone step up and be CD!
Otherwise, we'll aim for the raindate June 21st ......

As always, any Sabatini is better than no Sabatini!
Glad at least one will be there!
So far we have 4 guys coming, enough to guarantee a contest so if you are on the border, come.
As for the weather, there might be spotty rain but it will be short lived so if its raining by you, it may not be at the field so come anyway!
See you at the field
